Gmail, after adding features like voice chat, video chat, facebook status update like feature "Buzz", it has now added another damn cool feature of calling any US number for FREE.
Currently, this feature is available only to US users and users from any other country will have no clue of this option.
But there's a hack, with which any Indian (other countries' users as well) will be able to enjoy phone calls to USA. This enables one to call other countries as well but is charged a little.
Follow the below steps to enable calling USA numbers.
1. Download HotSpot Shield and install. Enable it after the installation. This will assign you a US ip address and make gmail trace you as an American and thus enabling the call feature.
2. Now login to your gmail account and you'll find the "Call phone" option near the chat list.
3. Click on call phone and enter the US number you want to call and get connected in seconds.
Note : This requires you to have Google voice/video chat plugin installed on the pc. Nevertheless, you'll be directed to install if you don't have it installed.
